So just how long has it been?

Long enough that I could not figure out what was wrong with my snap press. Well, okay, I figured out what was wrong with it, and even how to fix it, but I ruined two of the 4 snaps I had in the color I was going to use! I only needed three of them, so I stuck a new color in the middle. After ruining three snaps on the garment, I thought to switch to a scrap piece and ruined three more on it before I managed to get it adjusted to using the metal snaps again. After I finished setting the new snaps, I realized my MAIN problem was that I was using my plastic snap dies. Oops.

I finished up a wearable muslin of the maternity pattern. It is a cute summer shirt. I had to add elastic at the waist seam, since it is WAY too huge to look remotely flattering with the back tie. I will be fashionable that way...all of the shirts I tried on at the store yesterday had elastic there.

I am making my smallest daughter a matching peasant top in yellow after tracing a shirt that she has. I do need to get some picot edged elastic to make it easy to finish, but I think it will fit. The pattern was made from a knit shirt, so I need to try it on her. It went together in a flash, so I will make her a few more in knit or gauze, depending on stash! I finished a swing top and bloomers for her today (utilizing the aforementioned snap press and fabric that I have had stashed for at least 5 years...when my oldest daughter was small enough to fit into garments made with one yard lengths!) so she will have a few things to wear over a disposable diaper on our trip. Her cloth diapers hold up her other pants, but most of them are too big in the waist to stay up when she isn't wearing cloth! I am going to make her a pillowcase dress that will coordinate with the pants too, but I have to wait until she tries on this top so I can see how long and wide I want to make it...and that will have to wait until she wakes up from her nap.
